In Northern BC we find ourselves at a frontier: an era of novel climate, mega-wildfires, and a profound resolve to collaborate for resilient ecosystems, industries and communities. This April, leaders and scientists from across B.C. will meet at the Northern Conference for Wildfire Resilience. Over the course of three days, attendees will strengthen partnerships, renew practices, discuss policies and launch new planning approaches.

Nearly a year after the innovative Quesnel Forestry Think Tank, the Kootenay Wildfire Conference, and the release of the Report and findings of the BC Flood and Wildfire Review, this conference will provide a solutions-oriented scientific and planning forum to advance ecosystem and community resilience in Northern BC.

Outcomes from this conference will include a summary report and action plan for regional management. This conference will also serve as a launch for a planning pilot to reduce wildfire risk and provide for more resilient ecosystems and communities.
